Solitude IGR Feed Through Fly Control

(2.12% cyromazine)

Solitude IGR is a feed through fly preventative for horses. Solitude IGR is an insect growth regulator that inhibits development of the exoskeleton in immature house and stable flies, preventing them from becoming adults. When mixed as a 1/2 ounce portion into a horse’s ration daily, Solitude IGR will prevent house and stable flies in and around horses, horse barns, stables, paddocks and race tracks.

How Solitude IGR Works

  1. Cyromazine is fed to the horse. It passes through and is excreted in the manure.
  2. House and stable flies lay their eggs in the manure and the eggs subsequently hatch into the larval or maggot stage.
  3. As the maturing maggots feed on the cyromazine treated manure, they become unable to successfully develop into adult flies. The cyromazine inhibits the proper formation of chitin.
  4. The immature stage of the fly dies.
