Oral Calcium Bolus for Dairy Cows
Bovikalc oral calcium supplement is a unique bolus formulation that provides fast and extended support of blood calcium levels in freshening dairy cows.
The Bovikalc bolus will disintegrate quickly in the rumen. The calcium chloride is available immediately, while the calcium sulphate will provide sustained release of calcium.
Provides both quick and sustained calcium supplementation that supports blood serum calcium levels at a time when calcium is in great demand.
A specially formulated and designed bolus helps provide a safe administration and better calcium availability.
Easy to administer!
Give one bolus of Bovikalc prior to, or immediately after, calving and a second bolus twelve hours later.
Bovikalc helps fresh cows maintain healthy calcium levels for maximum milk production. Immediately after calving, cows must adjust to the high levels of calcium loss through milk and colostrum, with the lowest calcium levels occurring in older cows about 12 to 24 hours after calving.
Bovikalc offers fresh cows essential calcium in two ways.
Bovikalc contains two anionic calcium sources for optimal absorption:
Two Bovikalc boluses can provide enough calcium to keep cows above subclinical hypocalcemia levels.
Administering an oral calcium supplement to cows at calving and again 12 hours later as directed can provide much-needed supplemental calcium when blood calcium levels are at their lowest.
Bovikalc is safe and easy to administer with its no-mess, fat-coated bolus.
The unique bolus dissolves completely within 30 minutes after arriving in the rumen, for quick utilization. The fat coating is also gentle on the throat, making administration simple for workers and safe for cows.
Herds with an anionic salt program can also benefit from adding Bovikalc.
Anionic salts can reduce cases of subclinical hypocalcemia, but may not eliminate it. Research indicates that herds with an excellent anionic-salts program may see a benefit to supplementing their fresh cows with the oral calcium supplement Bovikalc to further reduce subclinical hypocalcemia.

Horses:
Young Foals and Weanlings: 1 to 2 tablespoonfuls daily.
Brood Mares: (latter half of pregnancy and lactation) 2 tablespoonfuls twice a day.
Ponies: 1 tablespoonful daily.
Colts, Stallions and Horses in Training: 1 tablespoonful per 400 lb daily.
All Farm Animals: 1 to 3 lb to each 100 lb feed.
Mature Cattle: (milking or on full feed) 1 to 3 lb to each 100 lb feed. Many dairymen prefer adding a handful to each feeding. Feedlot operators simply top off feed with the prescribed amount of Clovite.
Calves: (bucket fed) 1 to 2 tablespoonfuls daily in milk or ground feed.
Range Cattle: Supplemental feeding is simplified by mixing with salt - 1 part to 10 parts salt, or 2 1/2 lb to 25 lb salt. (These calculations are based on normal consumption of 1/4 lb of salt per day by a 1,000 lb cow and 1/8 lb per day by a 400 lb steer.) To prevent the oxidation that tends to destroy all Vitamin A compounds on prolonged exposure, mix only the amount normally consumed in a 3-week period.
Poultry: 1 lb to each 100 lb feed.
Baby Pigs: 3% of the creep-feed.
Dogs and Cats: 1 level teaspoon per each 10 lb of body weight daily. This dosage should be doubled for growing pups and kittens, lactating animals and animals in the last half of pregnancy. Dosage may be varied as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Mink: 1 level teaspoon daily.

Selenium and Vitamin E Horse Supplement
Mega-Sel is a selenium and Vitamin E supplement for horses. Its patented, liquid formula easily mixes in with grain and is highly palatable, even for those picky horses. Feeding directions assure that your horse safely receives the proper level of Selenium. Mega-Sel improves muscle tone, increases stamina, improves hair coat and hoof condition. The formula works to lessen muscle soreness and alleviates tying-up syndrome.
Selenium and Vitamin E are essential nutrients for a horse's diet and affect both health and performance. Selenium is a trace mineral essential to life and proper nutrition. When coupled with Vitamin E, Selenium is essential for cell membrane integrity and proper cell metabolism. Selenium supplementation improves breeding efficiency by maintaining broodmare health and assuring proper development of the foal. Selenium is beneficial to foals and growing young horses for achieving proper muscle, bone and cartilage development.
Horses in training require increased levels of Selenium and Vitamin E to maintain proper cell metabolism to minimize the deleterious effects associated with the stresses of performance horses. Mega-Sel aids in proper nutrition and safely raises Selenium levels associated with peak performance. Mega-Sel is currently used by many equine veterinarians both as a safe alternative to injectables and as an effective substitute for Selenium supplements. Injectables, although effective, have potentially dangerous side affects (anaphylactoid reactions). Mega-Sel offers both safety and effectiveness.
Did you know that most feeds and forages do not contain adequate amounts of Selenium to ensure good equine health and performance? Many geographic areas in the United States, such as some areas in the Mid West, contain soil that is deficient of Selenium. This means the forage grown in these areas may not contain enough Selenium to provide adequate nutrition for your horse. Supplementation of Selenium in Selenium deficient diets is a must for proper equine nutrition.

Probiotics are good bacteria that can help boost the levels of naturally occurring beneficial bacteria in the gut. The word probiotic means “for life,” the opposite of antibiotic. Antibiotics indiscriminately kill both bad and good bacteria. Probiotics, or Direct-Fed Microbials (DFMs), can help return an animal’s intestinal microflora back to healthy, normal levels.
The benefits of probiotics are unique to each species and even further defined by the specific strain. Probiotics can: help maintain natural immunity, support nutrient absorption, aid in overall health and maintain healthy digestion.
