Equine Rhinopneumonitis Vaccine Killed Virus
Broad protection vaccine- Pneumabort-K+1b is the only equine vaccine labeled to help prevent respiratory disease caused by equine herpesvirus (EHV)-1p and EHV-1b as well as for use in pregnant mares as an aid in the prevention of abortion due to EHV-1 infections.
Recommended for whole-herd management, including geldings, stallions and mares where there is evidence of EHV-1 in the herd population.
For pregnant mares, aseptically administer one 2 mL dose intramuscularly during the 5th, 7th and 9th months of pregnancy. Revaccinate annually at the 5th, 7th and 9th months of pregnancy.
For young horses, aseptically administer one 2 mL dose intramuscularly after weaning, followed by a second 2 mL dose 3 to 4 weeks later. Revaccinate with a single 2 mL dose 6 months after the second primary dose and annually thereafter. To insure proper placement and retention of the vaccine, inject deep into the heavy muscles of the hindquarter. Mild exercise to promote absorption is recommended for one week after injection.

Horses
Inject one 1 mL dose intramuscularly using aseptic technique. Administer a second 1 mL dose 4 to 8 weeks after the first dose. Revaccinate annually using one 1 mL dose.
Sheep, swine and small horses (such as Shetland ponies or miniature horses)
Administer a 0.5 mL dose according to the above schedule for horses.
*Protective tetanus antibody titers usually occur two weeks after the second injection of the initial series.
